The Challenge
Considering the age of the church, most of the interior woodwork was in a reasonable condition. Sadly, some of the previous repairs done needed to be addressed, and a building firm in Dunedin was instructed to complete this work.
The Trust wanted to brighten the interior with colour without losing the historical character and integrity of the building.
The Solution
Resene's Dunedin Colour Consultant, Jill Marsh, chose the colours drawn from the beautiful stained-glass windows, this was the perfect palate to create the look and feel they were hoping for. The colours used were Zylone Sheen - Jordy Blue, Lustacryl Deep Base - Cobalt Blue, Decorator Alkyd Satin - Half Pearl Lusta.
Some Of The Interesting Stuff
The church has a beautiful stained glass window that were originally made by a Mr Robert Fraser of Dunedin. They were damaged by stones being thrown at them in the 1960s and were authentically recreated in 2002 to dominate the beauty of this small historic church once again.
